We had two beats in river Dee . On Tuesday
and Wednesday we had Carlogie and on Thursday , Friday and Saturday Ballogie .
All rods in these two beats are booked every day for the next few years.
Tom and Jean have 3 weeks here every February and now I'm on the list so this will be repeated next year.
The water level under the Potarch bridge showed6 feet and it 's a lot. Many
of the pools disappear when there is so much water. There was also snow
everywhere. No places of the river was fishable.
The next day the water level dropped slowly and some of the pools began to be fishable.
It was one pool that was possible to fish and that was Boat Pool and Village Pool. And only one person in every pool. So we rotated the fishing and it went fine. We had some kelts the first day. Later in the week the snow and it was green river banks. The river was still on its way down when it was freezing at night . This remained until Saturday when the river started to rise again..
We had 7 springers and a lot of kelts. I had 16 kelts.
When you fish at this time of the year you must expect variation. So it was everything from wading in half a meter of snow to green riverbanks.
Here are some pictures and names of some of the pools.
